Oakland A’s Italian Heritage Night – Friday, August 1, 2014

Join NBICF friends on our 4th annual trip to see the Oakland A’s play the Kansas City Royals in the Oakland Colosseum; as the A’s celebrate a wonderful & fun Italian Heritage Night. Jim Alfieri tosses first pitch: a bocce ball. Thanks to tour founder Jim Alfieri & escort Patti Adams, you get:

Winemaker Dinner at Rosso’s Rosticceria – Sunday, August 10, 5:00-8:00 PM

On August 10 at 5:00 pm, Rosso’s Proprietor & Executive Chef John Franchetti will prepare a special four-course dinner with wine pairings from Ramazzotti Winery at the new Rosso’s Rosticceria, 1229 Dutton Avenue, Santa Rosa. Click here for menu, wine pairings, and reservation form.

Pizza e Birra Night – July 16

PIZZA e BIRRA NIGHT Fundraiser – July 16 – 6:00-9:00 PM

Great food and fun, it’s time for our second annual Pizza e Birra Fundraiser on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 starting at 6 PM. Rosso’s has graciously agreed to donate all the food once again for this event. The wood-fired pizza oven will roll into our parking lot and we’ll be dining al fresco on all-you-can-eat pizzasalads and dessert plus Moretti beer donated to us by Total Beverage Solutions.

We’ll also feature a movie for those wishing to dine inside, this year it will be Beyond the Sea the 
story of Bobby Darin whose real name was Walden Robert Cassotto. You must reserve early for this fundraiser as we only have 50 tickets available. 

Tickets are $25 for members and $27 for non-members. Make your checks payable

Painting Italy Fundraiser – July 12

PITTURA ITALIA – Painting Italy Fundraiser July 12, 2014 1-4 PM

Support the North Bay Italian Cultural Foundation in a fun and creative way. Our new fundraiser is ‘Pittura Italia, Painting Italy’ on Saturday July 12, 1-4 PM at the Center. This three-hour workshop is for any level of art ability! pinturraParticipants will spend an afternoon creating an original painting of an iconic scene in Italy guided by professional artists. All participants will receive a canvas board, paints and brushes to use, beverage and snack for $35. Just bring an apron and your creativity and go home with a painting! Because this is a sip and sketch event (we are serving wine), it is for adults only. Finding the Mother Lode: Italian Immigrants in California

On April 6 and 7, the North Bay Italian Cultural Foundation (NBICF), the Santa Rosa Junior College Department of Modern & Classical Languages & American Sign Language and the Wine Library Associates of Sonoma County will host filmmakers Gianfranco Norelli and Suma Kurien for the screening of their film, “Finding the Mother Lode: Italian Immigrants in California”.

Finding the Motherlode documents the experience of Italian immigrants in California. Through stories set in seven Italian communities throughout California, including Sonoma County, this film examines how economic and social mobility became possible for many Italians in the Golden State. It is also a look at how immigrant identity is maintained and transformed as immigrants become assimilated into mainstream America.       • Sunday, April 6, 4:30-7:00 pm – Finding the Motherlode: Italian Immigrants in California – Special Film Documentary on the Italian Immigration to California at Carole Ellis Auditorium on the Santa Rosa JC Petaluma Campus, 680 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy. Prior to the filming there will be a reception with light refreshments and following the film there will be a post screening discussion with the filmmakers.

    • Monday, April 7, 5:00-7:00 PM – NBICF and the Wine Library Associates of Sonoma County host Gianfranco Norelli and Suma Kurien, directors and producers of Finding the Mother Lode, for a fireside chat and wine reception at the Sonoma County Wine Library, 139 Piper Street, Healdsburg. The reception highlights a few of the winery principals interviewed in the film including Cellar #8 at Asti Winery, Pedroncelli and Seghesio. Artisan cheese and local bread will accompany the wine tasting.
