The following represent our continuing effort to schedule a variety of events with an Italian theme geared to the many interests of our community. 

Monday, August 17 – Winemaker Dinner at Riviera Ristorante with Trecini Wines  This gala event dedicated to the Jeanette Mancini Mitchell Scholarship Fund SOLD OUT EARLY. Watch for future Winemaker Dinners & reserve early

Sunday, August 23,  2 pm – Ben Slavin Concert at Italian Cultural Center 
Come for an afternoon of music by Ben Slavin, an American musician who lives in Naples. Ben is an American folk singer who performs songs about Naples from the point of view of an American ex-patriot. Ben’s songs will give us an inside look into a metropolis which boasts a 3000 year history. Ben sings in English but may also sing in the Napoletano dialect. Seating is limited to 25 – reserve by calling the Center at 707-591-9696. 

Sunday, August 30,  2 pm – Movie at the Center – Bitter Rice, Riso Amaro, a 1949 Italian Classic. Francesca & Walter are two-bit criminals in Northern Italy. In an effort to avoid police, Francesca joins a group of rice workers in the South. Doors open at 2 pm, film at 2:30.

Saturday, September 19, 1-5 pm – Painting Italy Workshop at the Center – $35 – includes instruction, a canvas to take home, use of brushes & paints, plus snacks & drinks. No experience necessary. To enroll, email Susan Terracina Adler by August 19 at adler@sonic.net

Risorgimento Lecture at ICC – February 15, 2:00 PM

February 15 – “RISORGIMENTO” presented by Douglas Kenning, Ph.D.

This is a special Sundays at the Center Event at the Italian Cultural Center – Doors open at 2:00 PM – presentation at 2:30 PM. Come learn about the “RISORGIMENTO” (Rising again), the 19th century movement for Italian unification that culminated in the establishment of the kingdom of Italy in 1861. Dr. Kenning received his doctorate from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and has taught at universities in the U.S., Tunisia, Japan, and Italy. He is also the author of books, articles, and stage plays. 

Seating is be limited to 50. Use the reservation form in the current Mosaico CulturaleA suggested donation of $5.00 is appreciated. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Mary’s Pizza Shack at 535 Summerfield Road in Santa Rosa has generously provided NBICF with a Dine Donate Fundraiser in conjunction with this event. 20% of food purchased before or after the lecture at this location will be donated to NBICFObtain a Dine & Donate Coupon at the event.

Travel Night at the Center – June 25

Travel Night at the Center-  June 25 at 7:00 PM

Join Sharie Sbrazza for a night of Travel News for NBICF members at the Italian Cultural Center.

Upcoming trips include The ‘A’s Italian Heritage Night’ at the ballpark on Friday, August 1. Board a bus with other members with games and prizes. Receive a hat, dinner and great seats once you arrive at the ballpark. Tickets for members are $60.

In October, members can board a bus to Reno for an overnight trip the Reno’s Festa Italiana.

November’s trip is to the southwest region of France, the Languedoc, and to the southeast of Spain. See the largest Roman Aqueduct, a Roman colosseum, castles, beautiful beaches, Barcelona and more. Sharie will show a slide presentation of the areas.
